Up Close and Personal... 'Arkaynne'

Arkaynne. Arkaynne was a very unusual commission that oddly enough felt right at home. Having played AD&D for many years, I was quite familiar with the standards of the lich and the environment in which he would live. Also, believe it or not, my first big projects were on the macabre side. I am going to post one of my two books: The 13 Days of Christmas to show you just how ghoulish my work could get, but nevertheless it was very much in theme with this current work. So when Brian came to me with a sketch of this scene, I had nothing but enthusiasm for the project.

As with most everything I do, there is so much more that meets the eye than pixels will allow. So here are some closeups of Arkaynne. Personally, I think the stone wall turned out rather well. ;} Enjoy!
