Flikk took me a little longer than usual due to the amount of sheer detail with which foliage enjoys tormenting hapless artists. Actually, I wanted to illustrate a vast scene as I had yet to ever dabble in greenery. I'm pretty pleased with the results of this, my first background (I don't really consider Savanah a true big landscape). I also wanted to convey a sense of depth with levels of blur (note the leaves in the foreground). It's an interesting technique that is sometimes taken for granted, as the eye naturally focuses away such details. And as for Flikk, well... he's gotten himself into a bit of a pickle, hasn't he? I think he of all people should know that if one early bird is getting the worm, the other one is close nearby... ;}
Overall, I'm very happy about this pic. I think I'll make him into a print if everyone likes him as well. Let me know. ;} Voting scripts will be up after the temple is done. ;}
