In Parting Mists...

In another of a series of paintings created for use in Ilex Press' publication lineup, this piece was painted to be included in a Horror digital art book written by Martin McKenna. I believe it's going to be published in mid to late 2006. I'll update this page when I know sooner. The particular point of this piece was to be more of a 'Twilight Zone' take on modern horror, not the outright gore of a more Clive Barker world. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, particularly the background and environment. And though I do like the bedraggled victim there, I personally think I need a bit more life drawing study. ...but then again, spending every free moment on a piece to get out by deadline while putting in a lot of hours at the office does tend to get things a little whiney at the home front ;}
