Teryn
Officially, this elf was originally created as a very elaborate hair tutorial for publication in a book entitled Digital Fantasy Painting to be printed in Watson-Guptill for the US and Canada and then later in the UK. Printed by Ilex Press, it is the first tutorial I have ever had the pleasure to prepare for use in a formal book. Due to the rather simplified background, this piece actually took me about half the time I normally would spend on a work.
For the future of this project I definitely see an expansion for the background details to my normal levels of environment. Remember, this elf is really an elaborate hair tutorial (see tutorials for more) but I think she has enough character to warrant a complete piece. I see changing the little fire fairy into maybe a ghost dragon or some such more interesting creature. The fog would lessen and reveal the misty ground floor of an ancient forest. I would add a whole lot more detail to her outfit as I would have liked had I the time during the tutorial. All in all, I like her a lot. Not sure when I'll get back to her, but rest assured, I will. :}
