Mere Art...

From trade show booths to annual reports to packaging and websites, video games, book covers, magazines and posters, I've done just about everything. However, at the end of the day, my heart belongs to fantasy art. So for your viewing amusement...work: meet pleasure.

NEW UPDATE!
Nightmare World

Covers, panels and more covers to this modern horror comic colleciton of short stories. Too cool not to check out. :}

9th Elsewhere

A story about second, third or even ninth chances, 9th Elsewhere is a window on the bizarre world of dreams, on those who write and those who inspire the act of writing...

broken.miho: the model

This is the background model made for the broken.miho painting. Used as a high-tech perspective tool, 3D modeling has so much more flexibility...

greenhouse: the model
monktemple: the model

Two different projects that met the same fate. ;}

VALVe: Day of Defeat

One of the very first projects I was honored to work on at VALVe, this WWII-era style propaganda poster was created for the box and promotional pices of the Half-Life mod.

VALVe: HL2 Cop

Published first in the June 2004 issue of PC Games Germany, this image graced and inside spread for the HL2 featured article.

VALVe: CS:Source

Published first in the July 2004 issue of PC Action Germany, this image graced and inside spread for the CS:Source featured article.

In Parting Mists...

A painting published in another digital artist compilation by Martin McKenna, published by Ilex Press.

Fellow Earthlings'

Because I can't get enough of those wonderful critters, I had to do this charity poster for Fellow Earthlings'. This will be sold at www.meerkats.com. Coming soon!

Fellow Earthlings'

This is some charity work for the magnificent meerkat reserve outside of L.A. called Fellow Earthlings' Wildlife Center, Inc. Best vacation I've ever had. Read more about the trip...

*snap*

Exhausted and frozen to numbness, perseverance was all that kept her in motion as she kept pace with the dawn. The crunch of her footsteps droned in her ears until a snap of a twig echoed her back into attention.

Geisha

Sometimes a little change in pace is necessary. This new piece is a different style than usual, and I'm very glad I tried something new. I think I'll do that more often. ;}

Flikk

This little guy took me quite a bit into many new realms. I wanted to created something pretty epic with the scenery, attempting the vast and mind-numbing detail of a jungle. Sometimes I think I just draw to punish myself... heheh.

Arkaynne

Every once in a while the fact that Halloween is my favorite holiday shows through. This was a private commission er... "fleshed out" from an old AD&D character sketch. I loved how it turned out, especially since this was the first stone wall I ever did completely by hand. ;}

Jhenna

I originally had supplied Jhenna as lineart for a coloring contest I hosted. The prize was my color version personalized to the winner. In this case, Cicinimo (Jaime). That poster in the back is patterned after one of his color works.

Frozen Alligator

This is the design for the poster advertising the Frozen Alligator Cajun Bayou Heritage Festival. This annual festival has fantastic food, live music and other cultural tastes. The gator is 100% Photoshop.

The Astronomer

I suppose this is what happens when the sky goes digital... ;} The Astronomer is my first picture I've created because of a dream flash. It was much easier to come up with ideas that way. Will have to do that more often... ;}

Megatokyo Nights

Pirogoeth is a spoofed character of both Megatokyo and Bioware's Neverwinter Nights. This was a poster long ago sold at www.megatokyo.com.

Lineart: Fred Gallagher of Megatokyo
Color and rendering by Merekat

Broken.Miho

Abandoned and alone, Miho sits in the somber ruins of an old church. This was a poster long ago sold at www.megatokyo.com.

Teryn

Officially, this elf was originally created as a very elaborate hair tutorial for publication in a book entitled Digital Fantasy Painting printed by Watson-Guptill for the US and Canada and then later in the UK.

Catch

Okay. I did it. I managed to get her done before my poor editor had a fit two weeks before the whole book was to go to the printers. ...and you know what? I'm even pretty pleased with the way she turned out. :}

Mynx

Mynx started out as a funky pose I had found in a pose book. I took the pose and tried to think up a storyline around it. It seemed obvious to me she was ducking lasers. ;} Of course, I'm not sure exactly how she's going to get out of there if that panel doesn't shut off the alarm. ;}

Angel of Crystal City

This is a commission work for a futuristic anime angel designed to be the spokesangel for a new gaming company in Germany. She is to be used for web, print and television. You may see details of her soon in the highlights section.

Savannah

She was all about new things for me. This is the first piece I had ever done rock and landscaping in, the first gun I ever drew, and for some odd reason, only the second piece to be in daylight. Weird. ;}
